If you wanted to attend CSSCamp Barcelona, but have difficulty attending the conference this is your chance!

With CSSCamp´s first edition of the community conference about the modern web, we aim to build a bridge in the frontend community, representing an opportunity for people from across every corner of the tech community to come together and explore the challenges faced by web designers and developers worldwide. As we are convinced that it´s time to join forces to build a better web and deliver the best user experiences together.

We look forward to seeing YOU at CSSCamp 2019!

If we want a better future for the web, we need everybody.

CSSCamp aims to become known as an inclusive, diverse event, with a welcoming atmosphere for all, a broad range of topics and people from various backgrounds participating in it. We want our conference and community to include, promote, support and encourage diversity, as we believe that a more diverse audience makes for a better event and community experience.

Building a better web comes a variety of people, regardless of their race, ethnicity, gender, abilities, age, religion, sexual orientation, and economic or social classes.

That is why CSSCamp Barcelona has organized a Scholarship Program to make tickets available on an individual basis to help you, people from underrepresented groups in technology, who otherwise could not take part in it, our International conference for web designers and developers.

Requirements

In order to be eligible to apply for our Scholarship Program, you must:

  • belong to an underrepresented group in technology. This may include (but is not limited to) people of color, LGBTQIA, people with disabilities, refugees, women, students and people facing economic or social hardships.
  • agree to follow our Code of Conduct
  • be at least 18+ years old
  • attend the full duration of CSSCamp Barcelona (July 17th, 2019)

What does the Scholarship include?

We focus our efforts on the local community, so we highly encourage applicants from Barcelona and surroundings to apply for our Scholarships. Exceptions are possible and every case will be treated independently.

Each scholarship award is valid for one general conference ticket (free ticket), including:

  • General admission conference pass to CSSCamp Barcelona 2019 edition
  • One session day of the event (July 17th, 2019)

We want all our attendees to feel part of our community: people awarded with a fully or partly funded, opportunity ticket will receive a general conference ticket with the same benefits as any other attendee.

The following expenses are not included in the Scholarship Program:

  • Travel and lodging not included
  • Since we do not offer lunch at the conference itself, you have to take care of yourself like the other attendees
  • Local city transport during the event

How Are Winners Determined?

Each application will be thoroughly vetted to ensure it satisfies all program requirements before being added to a pool:

  • One submission per applicant.
  • International applicants are welcome: take into account that you will be responsible to secure your own visa, flight and hotel to attend the conference
  • The organizers’ decision is final and cannot be appealed.

Where is the Scholarship Budget coming from?

The budget is filled by our diversity partners, attendees and sponsors.

How to Apply?

Our tickets are available through an application procedure. To apply, you need to fill out our Scholarship Application Form before the 21st of June 2019.

  • Free tickets are limited in number.

Privacy

At CSSCamp we respect your privacy. We guarantee that the applicant’s privacy, details, and answers remain protected at all times, as the JSCamp conference is determined to provide a safe environment for all attendees. Your personal data are collected and used in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Applicant details and submission information will be shared exclusively with JSCamp organizers. Diversity partners will not have access to applicant information.

Scholarship Partners

We are currently looking for various organizations to provide access to relevant groups. If your group or organization would like to be included in this program, please contact us.

Help us to make an impact, as we’d love to be able to offer more scholarships this year. Granting opportunity tickets are made possible thanks to companies, committed to diversity and inclusion, that contribute as Scholarship partners.

Scholarship Sponsorship is not meant as money for a party, nor for a fancy catering, or a nice booth. Instead, it is a chance for someone to attend the conference, who otherwise couldn´t.

This ticket fund will be the sole support of CSSSCamp´s 2019 Scholarship Program. Your consideration and contribution to helping our community will be recognized. If you or your company would be interested in sponsoring a scholarship or have any question about our Scholarship Program, feel free to contact us hello@hackcolab.tech or via Twitter at @CSSCamp.

Code of Conduct

All attendees, speakers, sponsors, partners and staff at JSCamp are required to agree to the Code of Conduct. Organizers will enforce this code throughout the event.
